The Madoc Library is situated within Treaty 27 and Treaty 27 \u00bc, also known as the Rideau Purchase, and we honour the original signatories of this treaty between the Mississauga Nation and the British Crown in 1822. A library is judged and rated on more than 125 guidelines that evaluate library services, resources, planning and policy.<\/p>\n<p>We are proud to say we received a five-year re-accreditation in December 2019 and 2024, and we will continue to work hard to maintain these high standards.<\/p>\n<h5>A Library by any other name&#8230;<\/h5>\n<p>The Library is sometimes referred to as Madoc Public Library, and at other times, as Centre Hastings Public Library. \u00a0A Library must officially be named by the Municipality in which it resides. \u00a0Since the amalgamation of Huntingdon Township and the Town of Madoc on January 1st, 1998, the Library has been officially and legally known as Centre Hastings Public Library. \u00a0However, to avoid confusion, the common name was kept as Madoc Public Library.<\/p>\n<h4>\u00a0<\/h4>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Respect and Acknowledgement Declaration Our Mission To provide opportunities for personal growth, discovery, learning, entertainment, and community engagement in an inclusive customer-centred environment.
